Ross Marine Drop Pier – Structural Marine Design

Bastion Group was engaged to provide structural engineering services for a new drop pier at the Ross Marine facility—an enhancement intended to support expanded operations along the waterfront and improve access for heavy marine equipment.

The design package focused on a durable and high-capacity structural system tailored to the site’s operational and environmental demands:

  • Pile layout and load specification for precast concrete support piles
  • Cast-in-place (CIP) concrete bent cap design to unify structural loads
  • Concrete deck system combining precast and CIP components for optimal performance
  • Load design accounted for:
    • Fully loaded lift truck traffic with impact factors
    • Environmental forces including lateral stability under marine exposure
